Let's Talk Depression...

Do I Have Treatment Resistant Depression?

The Struggle is Real.

You don't like taking antidepressants. They take too long to work. The side effects of this antidepressant are worse than the last one you tried. Is your depression treatment resistant?

How Do I Know if I Have Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD)?

If you are wondering whether or not your depression is treatment resistant, consider a few things:

  • Have you been compliant with your medication(s), taking it as ordered by your healthcare provider?

  • Have you tried multiple psychotropic medications - again, taken as ordered by your doctor - with little to no positive effect?

  • Has your healthcare provider ordered genetic testing to determine the most appropriate antidepressant medication for you?

  • Are you engaged in counseling, or have you tried any type of psychotherapy?

Up to a third of patients who are prescribed antidepressants do not respond to treatment. There are many reasons why patients do not respond to certain medications.

If you are struggling with finding the right medication or treatment for your depression, ask your healthcare provider about treatment resistant depression and treatment options available, like assisted psychotherapy.

NeuroMend Infusion Center is now a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) certified to provide SPRAVATO™ (esketamine) CIII, a nasal spray approved for use in conjunction with an oral antidepressant in adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD).

People who are currently struggling with major depressive disorder (MDD) may have TRD if they have not responded adequately to at least two different antidepressants of adequate dose and duration in the current depressive episode.2
